Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee), Uttarakhand, has invited applications for admission into the following Disciplines/Departments/Centres of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) autumn semester and Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) programme, offered in the upcoming session 2011. The autumn semester session will be commencing from July 2011.

How to apply
For PhD Course:
Interested candidates may download the application form as well as the information brochure from the institute's official website: http://www.iitr.ac.in/. Application form with other detailed information can also be obtained from the Chairman, PG Admission-2011, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee 247 667 by sending a demand draft for Rs 250/- in favour of Chairman, PG Admission, IITR and a self addressed envelope (23 x 17 cm). The requisite documents needed to be attached to the application form are the attested photocopies of all the certificates obtained by the candidate, attested copy of GATE Score Card and its Admit Card /Equivalent National Test certificate. The application fee is Rs 200 which is to be paid in the form of DD. The DD should be drawn in favour of Chairman, PG Admission, IIT Roorkee”. The duly filled application form along with the DD and enclosures should be submitted latest by April 21, 2011.
For PDF Course:
Interested candidates can download the application forms (Form PDF-1 & Form PDF-1A) from the institute’s official website: http://www.iitr.ac.in/. Candidate should apply in the prescribed format (Form PDF-1) along with a research plan as per the format given in Form PDF-1A. Candidates should also prepare a presentation of their research plan which would be presented before the selection committee at the time of interview. The application form and research plan should be submitted on or before the last date mentioned.
