DU has Published Second Cut Off List 2011 For Arts & Commerce

Delhi University (DU) has published the second cut off list today, i.e. on June 21, 2011, for admission into its Arts & Commerce colleges, for the upcoming session 2011. In the second list, the cut-off marks have decreased in programmes such as BCom (Honours) and BA programme.

 

However, college like Shri Ram College of Commerce has managed to fill all its general category seats in BCom and Economics courses even with its much hyped first list. Sources have informed that in colleges such as Kirori Mal College, Sri Venkateswara College, SGTB Khalsa College, Gargi College, Kamla Nehru College and Lady Shri Ram College there are still vacant seats for admission into the popular commerce programmes.

 

Furthermore, admission to seats reserved under the OBC quota is turning out to be a tough task for DU colleges, just like the last three years. Even SRCC, which has filled all its general category seats, is open for admission in the second list for OBC quota. Therefore, colleges in some courses have even gone to the extent of giving almost a 10 % relaxation in order to attract students. 

Colleges affiliated to DU have exercised abundant caution in declaring the second cut off list. Aspirants for admission are advised not to get discouraged. Most colleges are expected to announce three more lists with lower cut-offs. Eligible candidates are advised to complete admission formalities in the college concerned, from June 22, 2011 to June 25, 2011 within the specified time period.
